Dinner and Dessert Wares

Many of the items found in this category were manufactured to meet the needs of the consumer of the first half of the nineteenth century and are no longer in use today.  There is no internationally agreed-to nomenclature for shapes; this exhibition uses primarily the terms used by David and Linda Arman and by Elloise Baker Larsen in their works dedicated to American Historical Staffordshire.
