This plate shows the front of the Amerian Museum.  Scudder's American Museum was orginally founded by the Tammany Society in 1791 and sold to Scudder in 1810 who in turn sold it to P. T. Barnum in 1842.  In the additional image below, we show a 4 inch cup plate with wide molded white edge.
