Description:

This teapot shows the Chancellor Livingston Steamboat which transported the Committee of Welcome into New York Harbor for the Landing of La Fayette at Castle Garden, New York, Aug 16, 1824 (see it pictured in that view listed in this exhibit).  The border is Floral, Large Roses and Small Flowers.  This was the last boat built by Robert Fulton, named after his friend, Robert Livingston. It operated the route between New York City and Providence, Rhode Island.
