Description:

A cup plate is the only known form on which this design appears.  The Exchange Building, designed by B.H. Latrobe, was erected in 1815 between Water and Second Streets. It was a four story structure, 255 feet long, with two long wings which projected beyond the central portion. One section was occupied by the United States Bank and the other was the Customs House. The center surmounted by a dome was used as the exchange.
