Franklin TombPattern Category: Places Alternate Names: Franklin's Tomb Object Type: Wares for Coffee and Tea Description: Phillips produced this scene as a fanciful depiction of a tomb upon which the name Franklin appears. This appears to be the only American view produced by Phillips. The structure of the tomb is unlike the tomb in La Fayette at Franklin's Tomb (see in this exhibit). And neither bears any resemblence to the actual tomb of Benjamin Franklin. |
