Description:

This plate version of the ship Cadmus is part of the Diorama Series.  While the backgrounds of the Diorama series are not American, three views in the series are of American interest and can be seen in this exhibit.  These include a view of the steamship Robert E. Fulton (listed under Fulton Steamboat),  Baltimore & Ohio Railroad (so-called), and this view of the ship Cadmus (the boat which brought La Fayette to America for his visit in 1824.) The maker of this series is unknown.
